GLOBAL RISK MANAGEMENT FIRM
Assisted the General Counsel’s office of a leading global risk management firm with two internal forensic investigations related to an insurance subsidiary. One investigation centered on a dispute between the subsidiary and a MGA concerning allegations of fraud in the calculation, collection and remittance of workers compensation premiums; the other matter involved a review of the propriety and consistency of medical and non-medical claim payments by a Third Party Administrator ("TPA").
CONTRACTORS
Provided forensic accounting services to settle a dispute between a general and mechanical contractor regarding change orders and cost overruns. Assistance was provided to counsel for both parties as well as the attorney representing the trade union’s pension benefit fund.
E-COMMERCE PROVIDERS
Performed a forensic investigation of a fidelity claim brought by leading provider of e-commerce services alleging a credit card fraud scheme by an employee. Work culminated in the quantification of the fraud, recommendations for possible subrogation, and internal control improvements.
TITLE INSURER
Performed a number of forensic accounting investigations of employee dishonesty claims resulting from the misappropriation of escrow funds of title insurance companies as part of a preferred provider agreement with a major insurance carrier. The investigations were document intensive requiring the review of agency agreements, loan files, HUD statements, bank statements, tax returns, financial statements and Closing Protection Letters.
