Community Involvement
Because we know our community's success will lead to our success, we work to help organizations in need with our time and skills. Some of the organizations our firm or employees support and work with include:
Alex's Lemonade
An organization dedicated to funding programs that fight childhood cancers, Bill Mahoney and his family volunteer for many of the local bike, run, and swim races throughout the year in addition to the annual Cancer Symposium. Fesnak also sponsors the annual Lemon Ball that raised over $675,000 last year for the charity. Bill and his kids recently participated in the Camp Out for Kids Cancer that was held at the Lincoln Financial Field.
The Alzheimer’s Association
Chad DeHart is Finance Chair & Board Treasurer for the Delaware Valley Chapter. He participates in several fundraising activities throughout the year, and the national Walk to End Alzheimer’s which takes place this year on September 10, 2011. Firm members participate in other walks as well, in Rehoboth, Wilmington, Atlantic City, & Kutztown. Chad and the firm also participate in the golf outing and Chocolate Symphony, both of which are significant fundraising events.
American Diabetes Association
We sponsored a Red Rider team at the Tour De Cure bike race this spring, raising over $4800 to support diabetes research and education. Next up: the firm will be participating in the Philadelphia Step Out Walk on October 1st. We also work on a local level with the Southeast PA chapter of the ADA.
Boys Scouts of America, Cub Pack 99
Fesnak’s Jim Caruso is involved with local Cub Pack 99 with his son and serves as secretary for the Pack, which has approximately 70 boys. They offer various activities and adventures to help boys develop into well-rounded citizens by emphasizing character development, duty to God, country, family, and others while teaching them about nature, their communities and the world around them. Learning key skills and advancing through the ranks also helps the boys gain confidence.
Kelly Ann Dolan Foundation
Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Fund advocates for families with seriously ill, physically and cognitively challenged, or severely injured children nationwide. They also provide financial assistance for needs not covered by insurance for families whose children are living in or cared for in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Fesnak’s Nicole Ksiazek serves as their Finance Chair & Board Treasurer, and firm members participate in several fundraising activities, including Wine in Winter in which local restaurants showcase their talents. Firm members also participate in the Holiday Adopt a Family program each December.
