We also recruit for full-time entry-level staff positions as well as summer and winter internships. An internship with Fesnak and Associates gives you hands-on experience: you’ll learn how the theories and principles of accounting are applied to many types of businesses and you'll have the same responsibilities as full-time first-year staff accountants. Audit Internships
- Prepare electronic audit work using the firm's latest software.
- Learn Fesnak's audit approach for internal controls, cash, accounts receivable and payable.
- Participate in inventory counts, test accounts receivable aging schedules for accuracy and reconcile accounts payable.
- Provide assistance with consulting engagements.
- Work with multiple clients on a variety of generalist accounting issues.
- Learn our approach to transaction accounting, financial statement prep, and month-end close.
- Interact directly with clients to resolve deductions and generate weekly reports to track progress.
- Work closely with other team members on ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Prepare tax returns using the firm's tax preparation software.
- Learn about Fesnak's steps to complete a return.
- Work on just about every type of tax return the office handles, such as returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
- Provide assistance with consulting engagements.
The Buddy System
Each intern is assigned a buddy from our staff. Your buddy is a resource to answer your questions and show you the ropes so that you can hit the ground running with confidence. Don't worry; your buddy will expect lots of questions from you.
Compensation
You will receive competitive pay for your internship, in addition to invaluable work experience, and any overtime worked will be paid at time and one-half rates. You will be paid twice a month and will be treated with the same respect and consideration as the rest of our associates.
After the Internship
An internship is an opportunity for you to get an inside look at Fesnak and public accounting, as well as an opportunity for us to get to know you. If both you and Fesnak like what you see, at the end of the internship you may receive a job offer to return as a full-time staff associate after you graduate.
