Michael Wolfe is the Director of Valuation services at Fesnak and Associates. He has over 30 years of experience in public accounting, management consulting and private industry. Having been involved with mergers and acquisitions since the 1980s, he has substantial experience in valuing business enterprises, closely-held securities, intangible assets and stock options. He has completed valuations for corporate planning, mergers and acquisitions, fairness opinions, business sales, shareholder buy-outs, ESOPs, estate and gift taxation, succession planning, family limited partnerships, fractional ownership interests, marital dissolution and fair value reporting of intangible assets and stock options under pronouncements of the Financial Accounting Standards Board.


He has also served as an expert witness in legal proceedings relative to valuation and financial matters. His experience includes the rebuttal of opposing expert’s opinions, preparation of expert reports and related deposition and testimony.


A frequent speaker on subjects including business valuation, intangible asset valuation, succession planning and taxation, he has presented seminars to many professional organizations. He is also an adjunct professor in the MBA program at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.


Prior to joining Fesnak and Associates, LLP, he was a Senior Manager at Smart and Associates, LLP where he led the valuation services area. He has also been affiliated with regional accounting and management consulting firms where he was a partner in charge of management consulting services, specializing in business strategy development, mergers and acquisitions and business valuation.


Michael is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He is also accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Institute of Management Accountants, The ESOP Association, the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, the American Society of Appraisers and the Montgomery County Estate Planning Council. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Business Valuation Committee and President of the PA East Chapter of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.
